TEC Breaks Ground on Groundbreaking Broadband

TEC has broken ground on a major expansion project that will bring fast, reliable broadband service to more than 1,200 homes and businesses in Camden and Benton counties. Fiber lines will spread across 18 miles, connecting rural communities with the tools they need to thrive, thanks to gigabit-speed internet.

TEC’s fast fiber internet delivers symmetrical speeds up to 40 times faster than traditional copper connections. Fiber improves work-from-home and remote learning opportunities, access to telehealth, and lag-free entertainment for people living in often-underserved areas.

This expansion is the latest effort supporting TEC’s ongoing mission to close the digital divide in rural Tennessee, following the recent completion of a project providing more than 400 people with fiber internet in Colbert County.
