Twin Lakes Empowers Communities with Over $112,000 in Technology Grants

Posted: January 9, 2024

Twin Lakes, the leading broadband provider in the Upper Cumberland, is proud to announce the recipients of its Twin Lakes Difference grants, totaling more than $112,000, benefiting more than 24 regional organizations. This initiative includes a $5,000 grant awarded in collaboration with the Foundation for Rural Services (FRS), underscoring Twin Lakes’ commitment to bridging the digital divide in rural Upper Cumberland communities. These community-based organizations range from schools, libraries, fire departments, economic development groups, and more.

Now in its 4th grant year, the Twin Lakes Difference grant program has significantly impacted over 70 organizations throughout the Upper Cumberland. These grants aim to enhance technological infrastructure, foster digital inclusion, and empower local initiatives.

“We are thrilled to continue our tradition of supporting community growth through technology grants,” says Jonathan West, CEO of Twin Lakes “In the rural Upper Cumberland communities we serve, these grants play a crucial role in fostering connectivity, education, and economic development. As we embark on this 4th grant year, we remain committed to empowering communities through communications and technology.”

Twin Lakes would like to thank the FRS for their time and efforts in assisting with the verification process of the 24 applications. The impact of these grants extends beyond immediate technological upgrades. They contribute to a broader vision of creating safer, more resilient and connected communities that thrive in the digital age. Twin Lakes looks forward to the significant impact these projects will have on our local communities now, and in the years to come.

The community grant program is offered annually through Twin Lakes and FRS, to sustain and enhance the quality of life in rural America. If you, or an organization you know, is interested in applying for grant funding, please contact your local Twin Lakes office for more information.
