Convention & Showcase Thoughts & Thanks

Posted: June 15, 2023

I’m happy to report on another successful TNBA Convention & Showcase! With over 350 registrations, we saw many friends alongside some new faces.

A few highlights made this year’s convention especially memorable. We were honored to host two esteemed guests who opened our general session, Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Stuart McWhorter and NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association CEO Shirley Bloomfield.

Moderated by Chris Townson, Shirley then joined the What’s on Your Mind panel alongside Jonathan West and Andy Brown. They opened compelling discussions on social media regulation, the use of Broadband Equity, Access & Deployment Program funds and the future of the Universal Service Fund.

Our tabletop showcase, always a high point of the event, saw 64 vendors with their captivating products and messages. Those networking with vendors included a dozen students from the Tennessee College of Applied Technology-Hohenwald, under the guidance of instructor Shirley Brown-Harrison.

My sincerest gratitude goes to the wide range of people who made this event possible. From the committee members who helped assemble the program to the supporting sponsors to the presenters who lent their expertise to the breakout sessions and peer groups, those who contributed time, funds and energy once again made the TNBA Convention & Showcase a resounding success!

And although it seems summer’s just begun, we’re now looking forward to the joint KYRBA/TNBA Fall Conference in October. Watch our social media posts and emails for speaker proposal information and registration. Fall is right around the corner!
