New Year, New Efforts, Same Mission

Carrie headshotFollowing a decade of rapid-fire changes in the telecommunications field, interest in broadband from federal, state and local leaders is at an all-time high.

As such, our 2023 calendar is loaded with new initiatives and opportunities, but rest assured that the Tennessee Broadband Association’s core mission remains steadfast: We exist to serve you, our members.

In the upcoming year, you’ll see continued efforts toward education, networking and policy. We plan to address digital literacy and workforce challenges, and we’ll continue to connect our members and share your stories. We’ll also concentrate on being part of the distribution of funds conversation and discussions from the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment Program.

Fiber broadband availability is a success story we’re writing every day with your help. In individual households, high-speed internet allows for telehealth visits, learning online, streaming entertainment and social media access, and it also lets many of our members do valuable work. The availability of fiber broadband improves the quality of life across Tennessee.

The lifeblood of our industry is through our members coming together to discuss our business and what’s most important to them. A few of those opportunities this year will include the Tennessee Broadband Association Day on the Hill on Feb. 7 and our platinum member event that night, along with the “Lead Tennessee Radio” podcast and our annual convention and joint conference with the Kentucky Telecom Association.

As we begin anew in 2023, we wish you well, and we’re looking forward to #ConnectingTN with you. I’m excited to see what 2023 brings for all of us!
