Grateful for Your Work #ConnectingTN

Carrie headshotIt’s fitting that November is National Gratitude Month. I’ll soon pass my first anniversary as executive director of the Tennessee Broadband Association, and when I think about this incredible opportunity one word comes to mind — thankful!

I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with the TNBA Board of Directors and members. I’m also grateful to do work that matters and helps in #ConnectingTN. I’m fortunate to have started my career with a cooperative more than 30 years ago. I feel blessed to stay in this industry and see our work evolve as technology continues to change.

Our industry has transitioned from knocking on the door to ask people to join a cooperative to our members today offering multi-gig services and ensuring rural communities have what’s needed to create a great quality of life. The mission to take care of your community is the same as it was 50 and 75 years ago. The pride and passion you have for your work hasn’t changed, and I’m grateful to be a part of the industry.

There’s no doubt 2023 will be a busy year to capitalize on the federal, state and local funding to connect homes and businesses across Tennessee with affordable and reliable broadband.

Thanksgiving provides an opportunity to come together and celebrate with family and friends. I hope you’ll gather around the table with loved ones this month and spend quality time together. If you’re separated by distance, I hope you’ll use your broadband connection to connect over video and enjoy each other’s company.

This National Gratitude Month, I’m grateful for you and the opportunity to work with the TNBA on your behalf. Thank you!
