If you haven’t listened yet, I recently recorded a Lead Tennessee Radio podcast about the upcoming TNBA Annual Convention and Showcase with Jason Shelton, Tennessee Broadband Association vice president and Loretto Telecom general manager.

While there’s lots to share about the event, it struck me when he described 2022 as a year the broadband industry finds itself at a crossroads that he’s absolutely correct — especially here in Tennessee.

During the podcast, Shelton mentions, “What we do today is definitely going to impact tomorrow, and the next generation, and a few more even after that.”

It’s powerful when you think about it. As we find ourselves with capital from the federal and state levels, our decisions on broadband will impact economic development and the quality of life for Tennesseans for decades.

As I know we will, let’s do our due diligence, with the input of our peers, to ensure we make sound decisions for future Tennesseans.

I encourage you to attend our conference May 31-June 2 at the Marriott Cool Springs in Franklin, Tennessee, to connect and network with industry leaders.

The agenda is set, and we continue to prepare the best possible event for attendees. For 2022, we’ve moved to a new golf course, Temple Hills Country Club, and added short informational sessions during the showcase on Thursday.

Our keynote speakers include Tennessee Speaker of the House Cameron Sexton; NTCA Vice President – Federal Regulatory Brian Ford; NTIA Telecommunication Policy Analyst Amanda Herrera; and Tennessee Department of Economic & Community Development Broadband Director Taylre Beaty and Assistant Commissioner of Community & Rural Development Brooxie Carlton. Early bird registration closes May 9, and we’ll share more information and speakers soon. I’m excited to see you in Franklin!
