After earning the Smart Rural Community (SRC) designation through NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association in 2018, DTC Communications was recently honored at RTIME as a SRC Showcase Award winner.

“DTC is hyperfocused on providing world-class broadband connectivity that improves the quality of life for our members and the regions we serve,” says Chris Townson, DTC CEO. “Ultimately, everything we do is because people matter, and providing broadband access provides a platform for unlimited opportunities.”

The SRC program is a network of communities supported by NTCA members who are committed to driving growth and creating opportunities through robust broadband service.

“Our member companies do remarkable work and strive daily to provide excellent service,” says Carrie Huckeby, TNBA executive director. “I’m proud to see DTC recognized for their hard work to offer the highest-quality service to their community.”

The SRC Showcase Awards recognize extraordinary achievements in promoting rural broadband networks and their broadband-enabled applications in rural communities. Communities are awarded based on their ability to demonstrate the use of these technologies to enable innovative solutions to improve economic development, education, health care and other vital services.

“The Showcase Award Winners are those who best exemplify the ways a broadband provider can change lives and help their community thrive,” says Shirley Bloomfield, NTCA CEO.

“It was an honor for DTC and our entire team to be recognized,” says Townson. “An award like this affirms that others understand and recognize the benefits of the visionary decisions by our board of directors and the relentless work ethic of our team. We’re thankful to NTCA for this recognition.”
