BTC Fiber’s Boring named Tennessee Council of Cooperatives president

Co-op spirit statewide runs deep

The Tennessee Council of Cooperatives recently chose Charlie Boring, BTC Fiber general manager and the TNBA past president, to lead its organization as president.

Working as a nonprofit organization to promote cooperatives, Boring will advocate for cooperatives throughout Tennessee in his new role.

“It’s a great honor to be named president,” says Boring. “The important work done by this organization is second to none, and I look forward to promoting and educating others on our way of business.”

Boring has served on the TCC board since 2015. He was chosen as president by the board
of directors, which includes representatives of the Tennessee Electric Cooperative Association, Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative, Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation, Farm Credit Services Mid-America, River Valley Ag Credit, Tennessee Farmers Cooperative, CoBank, Davidson Farmers Cooperative, United Home and Farm Cooperative and Hopkinsville Elevator Co.

“I want to congratulate Charlie on being named president of the TCC,” says Levoy Knowles, TNBA executive director. “He’ll be a fantastic leader to help extend its mission and assist cooperatives across our state.”

Boring also serves on the board of directors for multiple telecommunications industry organizations, as well as president of the Bledsoe County Economic and Community Development Board and the Bledsoe County Quarterback Club.
